Engineering Challenges & Technical Solutions
Column-Free Large Auditorium Span
Auditoriums require clear sightlines without interior columns. USEC designed long-span structural steel Pratt trusses per IS 800:2007 with rigid column-truss moment connections, supporting acoustic ceiling systems and high-density roofing.
Seismic Dynamic Analysis (NBC 105:2025)
Due to the heavy tiered seating mezzanine and double-height auditorium volume, modal response spectrum analysis in CSI ETABS was conducted to control torsional eccentricity and lateral drift under Seismic Zone V ground accelerations.
